When I first started, I tried to do everything the “right way.” I followed all the advice, copied what successful people were doing, and stuck to the so-called rules.
And where did it get me? Burned out. Completely drained. After four years of spinning my wheels, I hit a point where I couldn’t even get out of bed, let alone work on my dreams.
That’s when I realized something...
Doing things “the right way” just meant doing them the way everyone else was. And that wasn’t working for me.
Here’s the thing:
A lot of us, especially when we’re starting out, get caught up in trying to do everything perfectly.
We want our work to be noticed, so we try to make the “right” content, package it the “right” way, and network like everyone says we should.
But there isn’t some magical, one-size-fits-all way to succeed.
The truth? The people who stand out are the ones who stop copying and start creating.
Sure, look at what others are doing, but don’t just follow their path. Break it down, figure out why it works, and then do it in a way that feels right for you.
The only way to stand out is to be different.
If you try to do things the way everyone else does, you’ll end up exactly where they are. But if you take what works and make it your own, that’s when people start to notice.
